Corpus Christi Caller-Times - Jim Allison -

Jim Allison, born James William Allison IV, on October 8, 1946 in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Colonel James and Mildred Allison, left this world to be with his Most Gracious and Loving Heavenly Father on January 24, 2006 after battling cancer.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and Uncle Kenneth and Aunt Dorothy McCaleb. He is survived by his wife, Janet Allison; daughter, Cheree (Joel) Jackson, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Selene (Joseph) Flores, of Corpus Christi, Vanessa (Troy) Tuttle of Corpus Christi, Monet (Ralph) Castillo, of Taft, Texas, and nine grandchildren.

Jim was raised in Baltimore, MD and moved to Aransas Pass to care for his Aunt Dorothy. Jim excelled in everything he did. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, an elementary music school teacher, coach, college music professor, and well known musician. He played numerous musical instruments, but was best known for the harmonica. Jim sang and played harmonica every year for the children of Discoll Hospital and for many other charities and organizations. He also sang and played at the Jazz Festival every year. Jim has several CDs recorded and my original works, such as "Down in Aransas Pass." "Christmas in

Corpus." and his latest "The Finest Woman." which was written for his wife and greatest love, Janet. Jim was the finest man, greatest husband, dad, Pawpaw, and friend.

He will forever be missed and loved by all of his East Coast and South Texas friends and family; such a loss for us, such a gain for Heaven.

Services will be private.
